Summary
First Step Act of 2018
This bill makes changes to various aspects of the criminal justice system.
Among other things, the bill does the following:
- modifies federal sentencing provisions,
- establishes a risk and needs assessment system at the Bureau of Prisons, and
- reauthorizes the Second Chance Act of 2007.
